22!

My Birthday in Detail (By: Molly)
Today is my birthday. It has been a wonderful day and I feel very special. I don't usually do this full detail thing but today is my birthday and I want to try something new. I believe my birthday officially started at 1:30 am, when David got up to go sleep on the couch. (He was having trouble sleeping- might have been because of our hour nap yesterday) I heard him getting up and he told me Happy Birthday. I think he made some joke too. I don't remember. Such a sweetheart to wake up at 1:30 just to be the first birthday wisher.

I woke up around 7:15 and decided I was done sleeping. kinda disappointing b/c I was looking forward to sleeping in until 8. David, however, having had a rough night's sleep, was not ready to get up. I did a few things around the house and I decided to go work out so I would look fantastic for my birthday :) I came back from Anytime around 9. David was fresh out of bed eating his cold cereal and watching Sports Center. The usual:)

I left a silly vmail on my aunt Debbie's phone last night reminding her that it was my b-day today. Turns out that was a very efficient phone call I made. Debbie is with a bunch of my extended family in Florida. So, I received phone calls and texts throughout my birthday morning. They are awesome. And even though they were being kinda funny, it still made me feel special.

I got a vmail on my phone and had to listen to some old ones to get to it. I listened to one David left summer of 2008, when I was living in O-town and he was in Provo. He was telling me he just got a letter from me in the mail and how cute it was. We were really good at sending each other letters and packages that summer. That's what kept the fire burning. David even made me 2 movies (one called "Friday Nights without Molly). Anyways, after listening to the vmail, I was feeling nostalgic and went to find the David and Molly box. We read some of the letters and watched one of the movies he made.

After our little walk down memory lane:), I hopped in the shower while David made me breakfast. When I went to my bedroom, I found a gift from David on my bed! how exciting! :) He gave me black licorice, spearmint gum and toenail clippers (we have been using these clippers that David bought before his mission and they always come apart and David has to put them back together). I found a sweet letter later. He did one of those word for each letter of my name things. Also, he added an 'N' to my name so he could write nurse (ps- I got into the nursing program!)

I heard some little voices while I was showering. I was so disappointed when I came out to the living room and David said they had already gone home. I had just notified David of my disappointment when little Hayley and Parker (my niece and nephew) popped up behind the end table- "surprise!" I was so happy to see their darling faces. Parker reminded me several times that it was my birthday and they gave me a sweet gift from their family. After we got Hayley fixed up with her toast, I walked them back across the park to their house.

I ran home and ate my breakfast that sweet David made- toast and a fried egg. Then I finished getting ready for the day. I am wearing an awesome tie dye shirt that I made with my mom, Abby, Zack, and Lindsey (Zack's gf!) on Saturday. I love it!

Then we were off to Tri-cities for the afternoon. We drove by this plant nursery on Road 68 with the intention of stopping by, but it was closed :( bummer. We had other plans though so we didn't cry about if for too long. My sweet sister-in-law, Heather, wanted to get me this certain skirt, but wasn't sure on sizing. So, she gave me money to go try it on at the mall today. That was our next stop. I got the skirt and it is so cute. Heather has the same one in a different color. Then we went to the "worst store in the world" Joann Fabrics! That's what David calls it because he says there is absolutely nothing in that store that interests him. He still took me though and let me pick out some cute card making stuff- kind of my new thing. On our way out he said, "Good. I don't have to go to that store for at least another year." love that boy.

Our next stop was the Country Mercantile! It's a huge produce, gourmet chocolate and sauces, sandwich and homemade ice cream, etc. place! I have never had lunch there before, but I had heard incredible reviews from my mom. I got the grilled turkey sandwich and David got prime rib dip. I can honestly say that it was the most perfect sandwich I have ever had. delicious!

We had a wonderful afternoon together. Ok I'm getting kinda burnt out from this every detail thing... We came home. I took a nap while David went to work out. We walked down to a lemonade stand at the Gentry's- highly recommended:) We went to visit a family in our ward who brought a sweet baby girl home a few weeks ago. Now we are home. David just finished a game of NCAA Madden. We are going to a bbq at David's parents in about an hour. My parents, Abby, and Keenan will be there too! Stephen, Alainna, Jonathan, Heather, Nathan and the kids will be there. I can't wait. I love living near all this family! (well S,A, and J are visiting from UT).

Here are pictures from the BBQ (I finally added them:)

Parker preaching the good word.

Stephen and Alainna gave me this beautiful sunflower!

It has been a perfect day and I am so blessed to be surrounded by good people who love me. I also realize more each year how nice Birthdays are. It's nice to feel extra special for a day. And it reminds me how important it is to make other people feel special and needed each day.
