Lagoon!

David and I were able to go to Lagoon on Thursday... for free! We went with his Jr. High. We had a great time. I forgot to buy sunblock. I decided it would be more fun just to buy aloe vera after :) yah I got a little burned. The picture above is of one of the surprisingly scariest rides for us- the ferris wheel! It just went up so high and so slow. We did go on it twice though to prove we can handle it.

One of our favorites- a "family ride." You could make the fish raise up or go down as we were rotated around on a big central octupus. The fun part was the water that squirted at us around the edges. The height of the water changed. David was way better at driving than me. He always had me in the perfect place to get wet when we got to the squirting dolphin.

By the afternoon, David had built himself up enough to brave the Colossus! It is the second scariest coaster, according to the students. It has two loops in a row! David was glad he went on it, but once was enough.

I know I don't look too excited, but this was my favorite ride- the Turn of the Century. It's those swings that get going fast and eventually you're swinging at a diagonal angle. I loved them. They just swing in a circle and go over a pond for half of the ride. I know they sound childish, but I love swings.

I got this awesome picture of David on the Mouse ride. Right when you think you're going off the edge, it makes really sharp turns and swings you around to a straightaway, just to await the next sharp turn. I hated it.

This is The Rocket. There was no way we would go on it. It goes slowly up to the top and then drops you straight down. It didn't look like any fun to us.

So Lagoon was so fun! I went 10 years or so ago and didn't really enjoy myself. This time, I was able to relax and keep my eyes open on the rides. We loved it. I think the best part was that we didn't feel obligated to ride everything since we didn't pay to get in.

Colorado!

My sweet boy gave me some of my favorite candy and a tender letter for Mother's day.

We went to Colorado for Janelle's farewell last weekend. It was so fun! The drive is gorgeous. It was hard to say goodbye to Janelle. She is an amazing friend and example. She is going to be an awesome missionary. We will miss her, but we're excited to hear from her while she is in the mission field.

Janelle and meErin came down for the weekend too. It was fun for the three of us to be together one last time.

Janelle and her brother.

We were also able to visit David's mission (North Denver). It was so fun to meet some of the families. The pictures above and below are the Taylor family. They told me I have married the most wonderful man in the world. I guess they really like him. They are a wonderful family. I felt comfortable in their home as soon as we walked through the door.
This is the Siders family. cute kids!

We went shooting on Janelle's family property. It was freezing, but we had a great time. This is David nonchalantly holding a 44 magnum in his hand. He definitely used both hands to shoot it. It has some serious kick.

Setting up the target shelf

So, David got a little close to the scope. Janelle's dad felt so bad that he let this happen. It really wasn't a big deal. David's hoping it leaves a scar though.

Belated Easter Post

These pictures are of the awesome Easter egg hunt that Aunt Sharon put on.  We found some delicious candy.  Stephen, David's brother, found the golden egg, which meant he got the 20 dollar gift card to Olive Garden.  He and Alainna were so kind to give us the gift card at the end of the night. Such sweet family.

We went to David's aunt and uncle's house for Easter dinner. She and her kids decorated a fudge egg for each guest.  We always feel special when we go to Ken and Sharon's.  Dinner was incredible!
Our Easter baskets. The Easter bunny brought David some tennis balls and gummy worms. He brought me Hot Tamale black licorice jelly beans! Yumm-O!  I helped David eat his gummy worms. He didn't touch my black licorice.  The Easter bunny must like me better because I enjoyed more of the candy than David.
