Heavenly Father knew I needed some humor to lift my spirits during a long day with the kids. While Esther was riding her bike in a t shirt, I went inside to get her jacket. As she saw me walking toward her she smiled and said "here comes the jacket machine!"
David is at tennis right now. Right after dinner, Esther went outside to get a roly poly. A minute later, Benson came running inside saying there was a dog. I jumped up, remembering Esther was still out there. As I went to the front door, I heard the door to the garage open and Esther franticly yelling that there was a dog. When I went over to help her inside, there was indeed a dog, that had followed her inside! I tried to shoo the dog outside as Esther tried to get out of the way. She was pretty shaken up and it took a few tries to get the dog out the door in our narrow mud room. Poor Esther. But I was also laughing as I comforted Esther after the ordeal.
The next funny event happened about ten minutes later when Esther and Tyson were taking a bath. Benson doesn't like to be left out of the action. He put his feet in the water, against my wishes. And later he came running across the bathroom, with plans to halt his momentum right on the step going up to the bath. Instead he kept going forward and ended up tumbling into the bathtub, fully clothed, and landing on Esther. I tried not to let him see me laughing as he seemed a little embarrassed. I think someday they will all laugh with me over the stories of tonight. :)
