6 Weeks

Cutest little girl in the world!

sitting up in the Bumbo (what a fun word!) She doesn't always love the Bumbo, but she looks so cute in it that I just have to put her in it every once in awhile!

Daddy time!

tummy time- it's good for both of them :)

Annika is 6 1/2 weeks old now. She is so sweet. I really don't know what I would do without her. She is still a little squirt, but slowly growing! She weighed 9 lb 2 oz on Tuesday (10/11).
She loves floor time on her tummy and back. It must feel so good to stretch out and have free movement. I love it when she stretches- so cute!

She is awesome at maintaining a eat/awake/sleep schedule. She eats every 3 hours during the day. She usually goes to sleep for the night around 9:30-10. She wakes up around 2 to eat. In between night time feedings, I put her in her bassinet awake and she goes to sleep on her own. She wakes up again around 5 0r 6 to eat. Then, the best part, we usually go back to sleep until 9!

She has started smiling fairly often the last few weeks. The 1/2 hour after she eats is the best "happy" time to squeeze the smiles out of her. It's so fun to talk to her; we've had some good conversations. :) She is becoming much more alert. She will often stare intently in one direction, usually looking upward. We like to think she is seeing Gram Pam, as she wanted to be called. :) I miss my mom so much, but I feel like Annika is my connection to her. Annika brings pure joy to our lives.

We love our little sunshine girl!

  2. Molly, that was so fun to read how Annika is growing. Looking at those pictures of her in the bumbo, her neck is strong to already be able to sit for a little in there. How fun to have this new little baby in your lives.

The last little bit about missing your mother? Did something happen? I thought she was doing so well...I think of you and your mom often. I feel like I learned so much about your mom through you, the cool things that she would say and that she taught you. I know you'll pass those things on. For example, my birthday is coming up this month and I am making sure that everyone knows so we can par-tay. :) I love you Molly! Sending hugs from far away.

  3. What a very sweet, sweet post! Annika is just darling! I never had a Bumbo with my kids...they weren't around when jacey was little. Do you like it? I've heard of so many people using them and loving them.
And that is GREAT that she is already on a schedule. I swear I've messed up Sayla...it's like I've gotten worse at this mothering/scheduling stuff as my kids go on. :) She STILL wakes up a couple times during the night. grrr.

I miss your mom too and my heart aches for you. You are so strong though Molly. I am amazed and impressed by you. Please know that I am always here for you in any way that I can be. I love "Gram Pam," what a cute name.

sending love to your little family. :)
