April

Esther: I asked Esther what she wanted to do for her birthday. She told me she wants a purple sparkly cake and to play boogie man in the family room. I told her we can make that happen. :) She later added that she wants pasta and shrimp for dinner and "maybe Papi can come make it for me." She also said that she wants to eat by herself. haha This girl cracks me up. She has become a major daddy's girl. She wants him to hold her almost constantly when he's home. It's sweet but also a little overwhelming for David, I'm sure. She and Benson are really into yogurt. They have at least one container every day. She loves to have Tyson lay down in her bed while we sing songs to her before bed. It's pretty cute. She stopped napping around the time Tyson was born. But she could definitely still use a few naps a week. She usually won't fall asleep in the car either. We came home from Wenatchee a week ago and the other three slept the whole way home. She talked the whole way. She does sleep well at night.

Tyson: This sweet boy is such a doll. He smiles easily and is usually a content little guy. He is 3 months old this month. He eats once a night and usually needs his binky twice per night. The kids all love to talk and sing to him. His bouncer is still his favorite place. However, I'm try to hold him as often as I can to help his head shape round out. He's just so happy in his bouncer and often prefers it over us holding him. But I don't want him to have a flat spot and require intervention. He LOVES it when daddy does the "baby blessing bounce" with him and sings to him. He can be fussy and ready for bed or a bottle and when David starts holding him out away from his body and bouncing him, he smiles and sometimes laughs. We love our sweet Tyson!

Benson: Benson has been loving the start of yard work season. He's also really getting into coloring. He has me print pictures of super heros and Star Wars for him to color often. He does pretty well staying in the lines! He is somewhat of a perfectionist, which might be frustrating for him when he starts school. We had him tested for the district pre school last month. He earned all of the points for the rhyming section but only knew like 3 letters (B wasn't one of them). We'll find out in June if he is accepted. It's 3 hours every week day. I think it will be really good for him. I'm not sure what we'll do if he doesn't get in. Another one of his loves is playing nintendo games with daddy on his old lap top. He is a tender hearted boy. We're working on helping him manage his temper better. Yikes he is impossible to calm down when he's mad. We try to focus on his happy and sweet moments.

Annika: Annika had her school conferences this month. She is doing awesome. Her teacher says she is a perfect student and that we're doing a great job with her. I told her it's just how Annika came. She is such a good natured and easy going girl. My favorite part of conferences was the self Evaluation. Annika marked herself down in every category (ie- listens well, is organized, respects others, etc.). Then under the short answer section: What am I good at?- "all of it" What could I do better?- "Telling Ms. Wicks when something is too easy." haha Her self confidence is high, just as it should be. :) I took the kids to blake and Julie’s for dinner tonight. David had an away tennis match (still isn’t home). We got home at 8:15 and all the kids wanted to eat something before bed. I was trying to take care of things quickly in the kitchen when Annika asked “is this hard for you, mom?” She is so thoughtful. I’m blessed to be her mom.

Easter basket goodies!

naked Easter. This kid loves to shower in the morning.

Annika made sweet Easter cards for each of us. She is a thoughtful gift giver!

messy hair and candy. mmm

pre egg hunt!

We went to visit Grandma Stock. I know this isn't the most flattering picture but it captures grandma's spontaneous and fun-loving personality. The kids wanted to find her cat, Chaco. So they went out in the garage and all got in the boat to look for her. So cute and fun! She brought a flashlight and the kids loved it. I love all of these memories we get to make with her.

under the boat cover with cat treats :)

One of my favorite childhood memories is of grandma making us treat bags for the car ride home. I love that she does that for my kids too.

Benson's preschool admittance test

Snow White and sweet baby Tyson

These sweet kids decorated this bandana for Sadie (Glenn and Kathy's black lab). I think we tried it on her. But there's no way it would last long around her neck.

classic bumbo picture :)

not a big fan of tummy time. I love this outfit from grandma Kuttler.

the kids all love to feed Tyson

It was probably barely 70. But they decided it was warm enough for water play!

This is unposed. Benson wanted to read to Tyson. He is such a tender hearted big brother.

I miss having Janelle three houses down. But I'm glad they're just in Connell. We love getting together with them!

we love walking down the ditch canal and throwing rocks in the water (well the throwing rocks part makes me nervous when they get so close to the water.)

Happy birthday, Papi!

Benson and Uncle Matt. Benson loves his uncles!

We've had a lot of fun at the skate park! We don't bring wheels. They just slide down and run around.

love this little guy!

Ha! Drinking the last drops of daddy's Pepsi and playing a star wars nintendo game. Perfect capture of Benson's favorites.

Annika made papi a water bottle holder for hiking for his birthday!

we've had fun walking at the track with friends. It usually works out well. The big kids play around the track and on the high jump mat while I push Tyson in the stroller.

We hiked Saddle Rock in Wenatchee with Papi, Zack, and my good high school friend, Callie Chestnut. It was a hard hike for me! But the kids did great and it felt good to be so active!

Callie wanted to wear Tyson on the way down. She has such a generous and loving heart.

Zack did a backyard photo shoot!

We Went to visit grandpa while he worked at McDonald's. :) He works two shifts, like 5 hours total, each week. He loves it and it's pretty fun to see him there.
Esther enjoyed an ice cream cone after we had lunch and played in the play place.
