February

We had a Groundhog Day party with Annika's friends and moms! This picture was taken when they were watching a youtube movie of a real groundhog. We also made a groundhog craft and had yummy treats. Annika loved groundhog day!   We went for a walk in the afternoon and she told the 3 or 4 people we saw "Happy Groundhog Day!" After we passed the first person on our walk she exclaimed "I forgot to tell her Happy Groundhog Day!" It made my heart smile. I'm sure it made Gram Pam proud too. GH day was always a celebrated holiday in the Pass home. It's fun to carry on the tradition.
We had Papi over for a GH party that night. We just had our traditional dirt in a cup, with Minion graham crackers for the GH. Benson had fun with the pudding!
Annika and I went on a date to Frutaletas! It was to reward her for doing "better" with potty training. Ironically, she wet her underwear while we were there. :) I love spending time with my girl!

Annika's interesting outfit. Pink pinstripe overalls, which she loves, with camo snow boots. Yes!

We had fire woman Annika in the house for several days in a row. She put out fires, as well as start them. #jobsecurity

We decided to make a firetruck. The two chairs have paper plate wheels attached to the outside. They also had steering wheels and paper keys. It was a fun and creative activity.

We got some new headbands. Benson wanted to try one on too. :)

Annika had several swimming parties in our living room this month. I appeased her and put my suit on a few times too. I love observing her imaginary play.

Heather and Nathan went to Florida for most of a week. I watched their kids Tuesday morning through Thursday night. I will be honest. I was dreading this gig for weeks prior. About 30 minutes after we arrived, Benson threw up in their master bedroom, some landing on their bed comforter. He had had a fever during the night and no appetite before we left Othello that morning. But, I wasn't too worried. I called David soon after the throw up incident and implored him to take a sick day on Wednesday. I knew Benson wouldn't sleep well during the night and I was worried about my capacity to care for him and the other one year old and 2 three year olds in my pregnant and foreseeable exhausted state. He was very willing to come. He doesn't mind taking sick days for me. :) (not that he does this often) He arrived at 7:30 on Wednesday morning. I was so relieved! I took two naps, a long shower, and a solo trip to Walmart before he had to leave around 5 for a presidency meeting and mutual. Having him there actually seemed like a mini vacation for me. Hayley also happened to be sick Wednesday (throwing up) so she stayed home from school. She completely cared for herself. And she actually felt ok in the afternoon so she was able to help out. She and Colson are awesome! I would've drowned without their help. Hayley gave her little sisters a bath and got them ready and in bed for me. Benson was feeling pretty normal by mid morning Wednesday. Thursday morning, I found out Evan had thrown up during the night, in his sheets. And Hayley was throwing up again. So they both stayed home. It took me all day until late afternoon to bring myself to go in his room and collect his sheets to be washed. It turned out that he only had a few spots of throw up on the sheets. I was much relieved. I tried to keep the little kids away from Hayley and Evan even when they started to feel a little better in the afternoon. That was hard because the little ones are drawn to them. I made an escape to Walmart again that day, this time with Annika. It was nice to have Hayley home. All the littles were napping. So she didn't have a big job. But it was nice to be able to leave her in charge. Glenn and Kathy arrived around 6:30 and I was so happy to see them. :) It was a long couple of days. Somehow we escaped the stomach bug going around their house. I'm not sure what Benson's bug was. We were all so happy to be home and with our daddy again! David was done coaching basketball, as of Tuesday night, and it was mid-winter break. We had a lovely long weekend.

group hug: Brooklyn, Annika, and Evan
I love these two cutie girls!
Annika loved to hug Evan while we were there

We're baaaaack! (at Pam's Playground) It's been "warm enough" to enjoy a few short outings to PP this month. It really is the perfect playground for us (close to home, all fenced in, bark instead of pebbles, and toys perfect for my kids' ages)

Annika lined up her monkeys and dolls and said "time for a family picture!" What a cutie!

she loved helping Papi make milanesas

in her Frozen attire. She has really been getting into dress up clothes. I love it!

celebrating Dr. Seuss week

These two get along well, most of the time. I love these moments when they want to be physically close and play together!
