May/June

My cute niece and nephews at grandma and grandpa's house.

Hayley and Jonathan (Stephen and Alainna's adorable baby)

We finally had Glenn, Kathy, Heather, Nathan and the kids over to our apartment. I think it was in May. We had dessert, played outside a bit, some played games, and read books. It was fun to have them over to our place for a change.

I also completed a CNA course in June. I enjoyed the class way more than I thought I would. There were 10 students in my class. It was at Life Care Center of Kennewick. The drive got kinda old. But, it was a great experience. I think it will give me a lot more confidence when I start my RN program in the fall. I didn't enjoy changing briefs or giving showers for the elderly. But, I will also say that it wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. The photo above is Peggy, Kim (our instructor), me, and Amy. P, A, and I tied for the highest test score average :) (99% baby). Now I'm just waiting to get a date to take the state test. Yes, I am currently unemployed. It is an adjustment, but I'm not bored yet! My mom has been getting me into a few sewing projects and I am lovin' it!

One of the neatest things about my class was the ethnic diversity. There was How Vung, from Burma (she was an RN there), Rihanna from Pakistan, and Imelda from the Philippines. I got pretty close to several of my peers. Rihanna tells me that she wants to move to Othello someday:)

My mom made this cute apron for me! She helped me make one for Heather a few weeks ago. I never knew sewing was this fun!

Best News I've Ever Heard!

My mom is cancer FREE! She went in for her after chemo CT scan on Monday (6/28). Yesterday, she met with her Dr. to get the results. From the CT scan, there is no detectable trace of cancer in her body!! She will go back every 3 months for a routine CT scan. She is feeling so much better these days. Not up to 100% yet, but she is on her way. Her hair is getting darker and thicker.
I have been more emotionally involved with this than I thought I was. I am filled to my very brim with happiness! We all are. Yesterday was a great day. We are so grateful for all the prayers that have been offered in her behalf. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful cards, visits, phone calls, etc. My mom, and all of us, have been blessed with an incredible network of support.
