Summer 2009

We had a fabulous summer. I didn't really blog the whole summer, so I decided to do one post for the summer.
David and I lived at my parent's home this summer. It was great for David and my family to get to know each other better.
David and Keenan found some common interests- ie: tree climbing.
My dad did several awesome bbqs. He is the best bbqer.
We were able to see my grandparents several times.
We celebrated my birthday over our first weekend in WA. chocolate chip cheesecake- mmm mm.
We saw our adorable nieces and nephews a lot. We just can't get enough of them. (above is sweet little Parker)
David and his brother Matt had fun working and playing together. The shot above was taken after a wrestling match. They found several opportunities to wrestle- in the water, on the grass, in the living room...
We loved celebrating the 4th of July in Othello. I loved being with David this 4th (last summer he was in UT while I was here in Othello). He was played in a 3 on 3 tournament. He did awesome!
Evan likes us more than he did at the beginning of the summer. He's still warming up to us though. It's him not us, I promise:)
I love living so close to my grandparents!
David helped his Dad and brothers re-roof his parent's home.
Matt has become more willing to show off his muscles.
We went golfing with Heather and Nathan. It was my first time golfing, other than mini and driving range. Golf carts are so fun to drive!

We happily turned the '91 Honda over to David's sister, Rebecca. And his parents gladly let us buy their car so they could get an automatic. I do wish our car was automatic sometimes, but we love it anyways- for all that it is and does for us :)

Joel and Anya, and Jessica came to visit. David and Matt played Joel and Steve Harris in doubles. It was so fun to get to know Anya better. We just love her!

David used his Drivers Ed skills to help Abby get ready for her drive test- she is now a WA state licensed driver! yee-haw!
We played the flour game and my mom lost:)
We celebrated Dustin's 19th birthday! Holy Cow! He will be leaving for his mission to Uruguay 2 weeks from today!
David took me on a date to the Dale's pond. It's a good thing he doesn't have to impress me with his dating skills anymore... the date didn't go as planned due to several wasp nests in the boat. One bit David as he was trying to launch the boat! It was still so fun to be with David and walk around the orchard/farm. We can't get enough of each other:)
His model agent loves this shot:)

The "waps," as David calls them.
Chasing the duck that goes up and down the irrigation ditch all day.
David loves to throw rocks at distant targets- well, distant to me. He's really quite good.
My mom and I hosted a baby shower for a friend in the ward- Amy. That was a first for me. It was really fun, but I decided hosting is not my favorite. David and I had several game nights with Amy and her husband Ian throughout the summer. Sadly, they moved last weekend. He was offered a better job in UT. We wish they could have stayed. We will miss their friendship!

She is so cute!
This is what the boys did during the baby shower- Mario Kart.
funny couple
Their baby girl, McKinley, was born in August. She is so sweet!
I went biking with Heather and the kids and Anya!

I convinced my mother-in-law Kathy to come over for a pedicure. I still can't believe she let us.
I went to the park with cute Parker several times. He loves swings!
Now that our summer adventures have come to an end, David and I are beginning a new adventure- new apartment and new jobs. Here he is after his first day of teaching. He looks a little exhausted to me.
